Maxine Acosta

Designer Bio

Maxine Acosta is a student designer studying at Mubranding Acadamy. She is 13 years old and will be in 9th grade for the 2021-2022 school year. Other than designing, she enjoys playing cello and various Chinese instruments, archery, reading books and playing video games. There is no intention to most of her designs as she usually plays around in photoshop until she finds something she likes without really having a imagined product. Even when she does have something in particular she wants to make it usually ends up totally different then the way she imagined it.

2021 spring collection

abstract art

This piece of art has no meaning in particular. There was this brush that looked really nice and my favorite color is green so I decided to draw something with it.

shine a light

This design was for a volunteer program. I found inspiration from designs by David Carson and designed the poster using the meaning of the program's name.

types of water

There is no particular meaning for this design. I chose the topic of water because the google page on it was fun to read.

dog

There is no intention to this design. I didn't have any other high quality pictures I could use other than my dog.

2020 Winter Collection

david carson design

This design is inspired by David Carson and it's about the chaotic year of 2020.

word dolphin

This design is a dolphin because that's the first animal I thought of.

phone surrealism

This is a surrealism design with a whale's tail jumping in a phone. There was no intention to this but I thought the tail looked cool so I chose this for this project.

logo 1

This is just a glowing effect practice.

logo 2

This is a 3D logo design practice.

surrealism

This is a surrealism design practice.

op-art application

I messed around in photoshop and ended up with this. I put people popping out of the rings because I thought they looked like holes. The colors were chosen because they looked nice together.

movie poster

This is a movie poster based on one of my favorite tv shows/ anime/ manga. I tried to make it resemble the plot line and it ended up being one of my favorite designs.

dream

There is a practice to use various tools in photoshop.

level 1

Man or Woman

This project is mainly based around the illusion, man or woman where the picture shows either a man playing an instrument or the face of a woman. Since illusions are seen through perception, and perception is a study is psychology, the background is a bookshelf full of old books. From there, since the color of the books are mostly shades of brown, I made the color palette of the overall edit brownish. The illusion is also made with a newspaper texture since it went well with the overall image. A paint splatter effect was added in the background to add more texture.
