Scholastic Art & Writing Awards – 27 Regional Awards, 2 National Awards

MuMu Studio once again achieved outstanding results in the most prestigious youth art competition in the U.S.—the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards!
Building on our traditional strengths in Painting and Drawing & Illustration (with a total of 10 regional awards), we successfully expanded into nine major art categories, earning recognition across the board:

  • Digital Art: 🥇 1 National Gold Medal, 3 Regional Gold Keys

  • Expanded Projects (Installation & Multimedia): 🥈 1 National Silver Medal, 1 Regional Gold Key

  • Photography: 🏅 6 Regional awards (Gold, Silver, Honorable Mention)

  • Mixed Media: 🥈 1 Regional Silver Key

  • Design: 🥈 1 Regional Silver Key

  • Industrial Design & Architecture: 🥈 1 Regional Silver Key

We’ve always upheld the principle of “teaching to the individual and amplifying their strengths”, rejecting one-size-fits-all templates or mechanical training. Each student finds their unique creative direction, which is key to our consistent multi-category success year after year.

C. Lisa Received the 2025 U.S. Youth Art Competition Award for Artistic Excellence

The oil painting Lisa created under our guidance, themed on the war in Ukraine, won the 2025 Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement in the U.S. Youth Art Competition. She received a $200 cash prize, an exhibition opportunity, and a year-long masterclass scholarship from CYA. This is CYA’s highest national award, recognizing creative depth and social impact.

D. Twelve Students’ Design Research Projects were Presented in International Conferences

Three student-led design projects on humanities themes were accepted for presentation at ICERI 2024, the 17th International Conference in Spain this November. This will strongly support college applications for several of our graduating seniors!

E.Britney Received Full Scholarship to Carnegie Mellon Game Design Summer Camp as a Digital Artist

Pennsylvania student Britney won a full scholarship to the highly competitive Carnegie Mellon 6-week Game Design Summer Intensive, thanks to her digital art portfolio and compelling application essay.

F. YETA Global UN SDG Water Sustainability Contest – Top 3 Winners All from the Studio!

In the global UN SDG Water Sustainability Competition hosted by YETA, MuMu Studio students swept the top 3 spots and earned 4 of the Top 10 places:

  • 🥇 1st Place – Sophia Zhan (Graphic Design), $500 prize

  • 🥈 2nd Place – Carolyn Zheng (Oil Painting)

  • 🥉 3rd Place – Ruohan Liu (Installation & Industrial Design)
